近年、デジタル・ヒューマニティーズ（Digital Humanities：DH）の進展により、文学研究をめぐるデータの構築・共有、情報学的な知見を生かした分析、AIの活用など、研究の環境や方法は大きく変化しつつあります。各種図書館や資料館、新聞社や出版社、あるいはグループや個人の取り組みによってデジタル・アーカイブが充実してきたという研究基盤の変容がその背景にあります。

しかしその一方で、日本文学研究におけるDHの実践は、対象とする時代やジャンル、資料の性質、研究上の課題によって多様であり、それぞれの分野で蓄積されてきた知見や問題意識を共有する機会は、まだ十分とはいえません。

​

「日本文学とデジタル人文学研究会」は、デジタル人文学と日本文学の交点に関心のある研究者・学生が、分野や時代、国境を越えて気軽に集まり、それぞれの研究実践や課題、可能性について自由に議論する場──共有地（コモンズ）──をつくることを目的とします。

​

日本文学に関連する各分野の研究者・学生が、個別の研究成果のみならず、データの作成や共有、研究環境、方法論、教育への応用などについても意見を交換し、地域や国境を越え、異なる時代・ジャンル・研究手法を横断しながら新たな研究の可能性を探っていきます。

​

この研究会は、すでにDHに取り組んでいる研究者だけでなく、これからデジタル技術を研究に取り入れてみたい研究者や学生にも開かれた場とします。若手研究者・大学院生等による研究発表や実践報告の場も、積極的に提供していきます。

​

会費や常設の事務局を設けず、無理のない運営を心がけながら、年2回程度の研究会を継続的に開催し、長期的な研究交流の場となることを目指します。

In recent years, advances in Digital Humanities (DH) have brought significant changes to the environments and methods of literary research, including the creation and sharing of research data, analysis informed by computational approaches, and the use of AI. Underlying these developments is a transformation in the research infrastructure itself, as digital archives have expanded through the efforts of libraries, museums and other cultural institutions, newspaper companies and publishers, as well as research groups and individual scholars.

At the same time, however, DH practices in the study of Japanese literature vary widely depending on the historical period, genre, nature of the materials, and specific research questions involved. Opportunities to share the knowledge, experience, and concerns that have accumulated within individual fields remain relatively limited.

​

The Japanese Literature and Digital Humanities Research Group aims to create a “commons”: an open and informal space where researchers and students interested in the intersection of Japanese literature and Digital Humanities can come together across disciplinary, historical, and national boundaries to exchange ideas freely about their research practices, challenges, and possibilities.

Researchers and students working in fields related to Japanese literature are invited to exchange perspectives not only on individual research findings, but also on such topics as the creation and sharing of data, research environments, methodologies, and applications to education. By connecting scholars across regions and national borders, and by bringing together different historical periods, genres, and research approaches, the group seeks to explore new possibilities for research.

The group is intended not only for researchers already engaged in Digital Humanities, but also for researchers and students who are interested in incorporating digital technologies into their work for the first time. We also hope to actively provide opportunities for early-career researchers, graduate students, and others to present their research and share reports on projects and practices in progress.

​

The group will have no membership fee or permanent administrative office. With an emphasis on maintaining a sustainable and manageable structure, we plan to hold meetings approximately twice a year and to develop the group into a long-term forum for scholarly exchange.
